About MotR Secure
MotR Secure provides vehicle tracking and theft protection through a GPS tracker and the MotR Secure subscription. These terms ("Secure Terms") apply to MotR Secure and supplement the MotR Terms & Conditions. Where they conflict, these Secure Terms prevail.
Purchasing hardware
MotR Secure is available in two plans: Plus (self-install) and Pro (professional installation). When you order, you pay a one-off hardware charge and a monthly subscription. Orders are accepted when we dispatch the device; until then we may decline or refund an order. You must be 18 or over and own, or be authorised to protect, the vehicle.
Your statutory rights
These Secure Terms do not affect your statutory consumer rights, including rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 for faulty, misdescribed or unfit goods and statutory cancellation rights for eligible distance contracts. Installation, activation or use of a device does not automatically remove your statutory rights.
Subscription billing and recurring payments
The monthly subscription renews automatically until cancelled. By placing an order you authorise us to charge the recurring fee to your payment method via Stripe. See our Subscription Terms for renewal, changes and trials.
Cancellations and failed payments
You can cancel at any time from your account or by contacting Support. Cancellation stops future renewals but does not automatically refund the current period or dispatched hardware. Your statutory cancellation rights are unaffected. If a payment fails, we will retry and notify you; if it cannot be collected, we may suspend live tracking until payment is resolved. See our Cancellation Policy and Refund Policy.
Returns and faulty goods
Your rights to return hardware and to remedies for faulty goods are set out in our Returns Policy and Refund Policy. A device that has been installed or used is not automatically excluded from return where your statutory rights apply; installed or used status may affect the value of any change-of-mind refund but does not remove your statutory rights for faulty goods.
Hardware warranty
MotR currently intends to provide a 24-month commercial hardware warranty, subject to final product and supplier confirmation. WARRANTY DURATION — OWNER CONFIRMATION REQUIRED. This commercial warranty is in addition to, and does not affect, your statutory consumer rights. Details, exclusions and how to claim are in our Warranty Policy.
Customer responsibilities
- Provide accurate vehicle and contact details.
- Install or have the tracker installed in line with our Installation Policy.
- Keep the device charged or powered as appropriate to its model.
- Notify us promptly if the device is lost, stolen, faulty or transferred.
- Not tamper with or modify the device.
Installation responsibilities
Plus devices are self-install. Pro devices require professional installation arranged by MotR. See our Installation Policy for booking, access requirements and responsibilities for each route.
Lost or stolen trackers
If your tracker is lost or stolen, contact us immediately so we can suspend its SIM and prevent misuse. A replacement may be chargeable. We are not liable for trackers used by anyone other than the account holder.
Transfer to another vehicle
You can transfer a tracker to another vehicle you own or are authorised to protect. You must update the vehicle in your account and, for Pro devices, arrange reinstallation. Tracking the new vehicle without updating your account may breach these terms.
Ownership verification
Before activation we may verify that you own or are authorised to protect the vehicle. We may refuse or suspend the service where ownership cannot reasonably be confirmed.
Replacement devices
If a device fails within the commercial warranty, we will repair or replace it subject to our Warranty Policy. Your statutory rights for faulty goods apply regardless of the warranty. Out-of-warranty replacements may be chargeable.
SIM connectivity
The tracker includes a SIM for connectivity. Connectivity depends on mobile network availability, which we do not control. We may change the SIM provider to maintain the service.
GPS accuracy disclaimer
GPS positions depend on satellite and network availability, signal conditions and device placement. Locations may occasionally be approximate, delayed or unavailable. MotR Secure is a theft-protection aid, not a precision tracking system.
Service availability and maintenance windows
We aim to provide the service continuously but do not guarantee it will be uninterrupted. We carry out maintenance during low-usage periods where possible and will give notice of planned downtime where practical.
Theft recovery disclaimer
MotR Secure provides location data to help you and the authorities recover a vehicle. We are not a recovery service and do not guarantee recovery. Always report theft to the police. Location data is provided as-is and we are not liable for recovery outcomes.
Emergency disclaimer
MotR Secure is not an emergency service and must not be relied upon as a substitute for contacting the emergency services. In an emergency, always call 999.
Support
Support is available through the Support Centre. See our Support Policy for response times and how to get help.
