Our GDPR commitment

MotR is committed to complying with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018. This statement explains how we meet our obligations.

Lawful basis

We process personal information only where we have a lawful basis: contract, legal obligation, legitimate interests, consent or, rarely, vital interests. The specific basis for each type of processing is described in our Privacy Policy.

Data controller and processor

MotR is the data controller for personal information we collect directly from consumers using MotR and MotR Secure. For MotR Fleet, the fleet-operating customer is typically the data controller for driver information, and MotR acts as a data processor under a written agreement that defines permitted processing.

Subject access requests

You have the right to access the personal information we hold about you. You can request a copy by contacting us through the Support Centre. We will respond within one month, as required by law.

Deletion and rectification

You may ask us to correct inaccurate information or delete your personal information where you have the right to do so. We will action valid requests within one month, subject to legal retention obligations.

Retention

We keep personal information only for as long as necessary, in line with our Data Retention Policy.

Third-party processors

We use third parties to help deliver the Service, including hosting, payments (Stripe) and vehicle data providers (DVLA, DVSA). Each processor is bound by a contract requiring them to protect your information and process it only on our instructions.

Location tracking and payments

Location data from MotR Secure and MotR Fleet trackers is processed to provide the tracking service you have requested. Payment data is processed by Stripe; we do not store full card details.

Complaints

If you have a concern about how we handle your information, please contact us first. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
